• This was originally a police bike in Flint, MI
• It has the original wishbone rigid frame
• Original 1955 Engine
• Transmission looks to be original and works well (The case has been welded but it was a good job. see photo)
• It has been painted original HD 1955 Anniversary Yellow (although not an Anniversary year HD still called it that color.)
• Original 2-up (2 person) seat
• 1955 front fender emblem
• This bike was first restored around 1994
• A tag on the bike " in memory of Dirty Ernie '94"
• The frame and components were powder coated and/or painted
• They had new pistons and crank bearings installed and B performance type camshaft installed
• The heads were not set up for B type cam shaft during Original restoration(as a result valve spring was broken)
• The bike was driven less than 100 miles after being restored
• It was converted to 12 volt system with a new OEM wire harness that matches the old 6 volt style

Work done by us

• The Bike did not run correctly when we got it (hard start and a miss at idle)
• We disassembled the engine and verified all previous work (including new bearings in the lower end)
• We sent the heads to a Harley-Davidson shop in Wisconsin to have them set up for proper operation with B type cam shaft. They rebuilt the heads put in new valves, guides, and springs
• We installed new rocker arms and shaft assemblies and new hydraulic lifters
• We installed a new Alto High Performance wet/dry clutch pack ($125 unit), new clutch return springs, and a new clutch hub
• New gears in Hog Head kick starter. It now starts easy/ier (with a heck of a strong leg)
• We replaced the Speedometer with an Original Harley-Davidson ($700!)
• We installed a new 12 Volt battery, new plugs, and points
• New Trumpet horn (to be installed this winter)
• New chrome oil filter and hoses. (Now has a black one on which will be replaced this winter)
• The fuel tank shut-off valve was rebuilt, the carb rebuilt, and a new K&N air filter was put on
• New throttle and distributor cables were installed (dist cable adjusts timing to TDC for starting)
• We put on a new 70's era FUBAR independent exhaust system on which sounds really nice (Still have old Cigar muffler 2 into 1 exhaust)
• We are rebuilding the front brakes
• Runs and sounds great!
